A HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Did you eat
Osechi food on New Year's Day? I ate this food,
Tock Kuck with my family! As I said in my previous blog,
Tock is Korean rice-cake. and
Kuck means soup! So
Tock Kuck is a Korean rice cake-soup. Korean people eat this
Tock Kuck on New Year's Day. So our family eat this
Tock Kuck instead of Japanese
Osechi food every year. I like
Tock Kuck. It is really good! :)
Tock of this
Tock Kuck is something like this upper picture. My mother told me why Korean people eat
Tock Kuck on New Year's Day is because
Tock is white. And white means like new start. So Korean people eat this hoping good new start on New Year's Day. I wish my 2009 will be a great year for me! Why don't you try too? :)

South Korean people eat
Tock Kuck on New Year's Day but it is said North Korean people eat
Gyoza on New Year's Day not
Tock Kuck. Inside
Gyoza, there are a lot of nourishing materials. So people eat that on New Year's Day hoping they live a long life. I wonder what do American people eat on New Year's day. I have to ask my teacher, Mr. Telega :)
